Main Turbine Maintenance at Sarir Field in Record Time Enhances Gas and Power Production Stability

Benghazi  – The Director of the Information Office at the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, Ahmed Al-Orabi, announced the completion of maintenance work on the main turbine in the third phase of the gas treatment plant at the Sarir field. This was accomplished in record time and with high efficiency, contributing to the successful restart of the turbine and its associated gas compressor.

In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, Al-Orabi explained that this work was carried out as part of an integrated plan prepared by the company’s Maintenance Department. The goal was to increase the efficiency of the plant’s equipment and ensure the continuous flow of gas fuel to the power generation turbines, thereby enhancing production stability and improving overall operational performance.

He noted that the operation was conducted under the direct supervision of the Director of the Maintenance Department, with directives from the Chairman of the Management Committee, and follow-up from the Management Committee Member for Operations, Maintenance, Refineries, and Supply. He confirmed that the Management Committee expressed its appreciation for the significant efforts of the national technical teams in completing this specialized work, which showcases the competence and expertise of Libyan personnel in carrying out advanced maintenance with purely national hands.

Al-Orabi added that the Sarir field, one of the largest fields operated by the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, is a cornerstone of the energy supply system in the Eastern region and contributes significantly to the company’s total oil and gas production. He affirmed that the company is moving forward with its development plans for this vital field, utilizing national expertise and adopting the latest technologies to ensure sustainable production and improve operational efficiency.
