The Spanish government has pledged support for the upcoming Libya Energy & Economic Summit 2023. Spanish Ambassador to Libya Javier Ga-Larrache Olalquiaga met with representatives from Energy Capital & Power, the organizers of the summit, and local Libyan businessman Ahmed Al-Ghazali to discuss Spain’s participation.
The Ambassador expressed Spain’s interest in having Spanish companies play a major role in the 2023 edition of the summit. He highlighted the strong presence of Spanish firms in supporting Libya’s economic growth and noted their participation in the previous summit in 2021.
According to the Ambassador, renewable energy will be a particular focus area for Spain and its companies at this year’s summit. He congratulated the organizers on the success of the 2021 event.
The Libya Energy & Economic Summit aims to facilitate investment and partnerships in Libya’s energy sector and broader economy. With this latest pledge, Spain joins the list of countries supporting the summit, which will take place later this year.
