Istanbul – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh, leading an official delegation, attended the opening session of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) today in Istanbul, Türkiye. This year’s assembly is being held under the theme “Promoting Hope, Ensuring Peace, and Protecting Justice for Future Generations.”
The Libyan delegation includes the First Deputy Speaker and Head of the Libyan Parliamentary Division at the IPU, Mr. Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, alongside division members Dr. Sultana Al-Mismari, Dr. Rabia Abu Ras, and Ms. Fatima Al-Suwai’i.
The proceedings for the 152nd Assembly officially launched this Wednesday and are scheduled to run through the 19th of the month. The event features the participation of representatives from 160 countries, focusing on global legislative cooperation and regional stability.
