The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Saddam Haftar, alongside National Security Advisor Mr. Abdulrazek al-Nadhuri, received the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Ms. Stephanie Koury, at his office in the General Command headquarters in Benghazi.
The meeting focused on reviewing the latest updates regarding both the political and economic tracks in Libya. During the discussions, the UN mission expressed its welcome of the recent consensus reached concerning the unification of public spending.
Furthermore, the mission commended the efforts exerted by the General Command in coordinating joint military efforts, which have culminated in the formation of the (3+3) committee. This committee is tasked with establishing a joint operations room to combat terrorism and organized crime across the entirety of Libyan territory.
For his part, General Saddam Haftar praised the role of the United Nations mission and its continuous efforts across various tracks, emphasizing their importance in achieving permanent stability at all levels.
