A number of 56 Libyan municipalities said in a statement on Sunday that UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, is working contrary to the task he was assigned to, as he is working on continuing chaos and divide in Libya.
The statement pointed out that Bathily is biased towards a specific party, supporting it in its continued usurpation of power by force of arms.
The statement explained that UN envoy recently appeared as interested in resolving the Libyan crisis by inviting parties to dialogue, including the outgoing Government of National Unity (GNU) and the Presidential Council, despite the end of their terms according to the agreement that produced them.
“We refuse to repeat previous experiences that have proven to be unsuccessful and will inevitably lead to destabilization, as we refuse to submit to any unelected body,” the statement of the municipalities stressed.
