Libya says it has recovered 12 artefacts that were stolen and smuggled out of the country into Spain, announced the Libyan Embassy in Madrid on Saturday.
The artefacts through a judicial ruling issued by the Spanish Court No. 6, which the embassy described as “the first ruling of its kind”.
The embassy credited the Libyan Attorney-General’s office, the Antiquities Department and the Foreign Ministry of the Government of National Unity for their joint effort in recovering the looted artefacts.
