Representatives of UNICEF, other UN agencies and several Libyan ministries met in Tripoli today to discuss child protection, according to a statement by UNICEF.
During the meeting, officials from the Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Social Affairs,, Social Solidarity Fund, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, as well as WFP, UNFPA Libya and IOM Libya, discussed “progress under Pillar 3 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for Social and Human Capital Development in Libya”.
The interlocutors also reviewed “key achievements” in that area, which included: child protection system mapping, case management standard operating procedures, training for social workers and non-governmental organizations, outreach to 8,000 children and caregivers, mental health support for 11,000 community members and 3,000 children received Early Childhood Development kits.
