Benghazi – The Chairman of the Health and Environment Committee of the House of Representatives, Nasr al-Din Muhanna, held an important meeting with a delegation from the Arab Pharmacists Union to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation for the development of the health and pharmaceutical sector in Libya.
During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed related to training and qualification programs for medical and paramedical personnel, the role of pharmaceutical specializations in supporting the primary healthcare system, in addition to discussing the health and regulatory challenges facing the sector.
The meeting was attended by a number of prominent officials from the Arab Pharmacists Union, including the Secretary-General of the Arab Pharmacists Union, Dr. Ali Al-Faydi, and the President of the Union and Deputy Minister of the Unified Procurement and Medical Supply Authority in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Major General Dr. Tarek Abdel Rahman, along with the heads and members of specialized scientific councils in the pharmaceutical field.
The attendees stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Libya and relevant Arab bodies to develop health cadres, enhance vocational training programs in line with best international practices, and ensure the quality of healthcare provided to citizens.
This meeting is part of a series of initiatives aimed at supporting the health sector in Libya and activating the role of pharmaceutical specializations in improving the quality of medical services, in line with national and regional plans for public health development.
