Benghazi – The Minister of Interior, Major General Issam Abu Zriba, on Sunday discussed mechanisms for developing the performance of the General Administration of Electrical Police, during a meeting attended by the Director of the Legal Affairs Department at the Ministry, Major General Youssef Al-Doukali, and the Director of the General Administration of Electrical Police, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Louzi.
During the meeting, the workflow within the administration was reviewed, along with its role in securing vital facilities related to the electricity and energy sector, and ways to enhance its security and technical performance to contribute to the protection and stability of these facilities.
The attendees also discussed the proposal concerning the administration’s organizational structure, with a precise definition of its competencies and tasks, in preparation for its formal approval by the Minister. They also discussed construction projects for the Electrical Police branches, both those currently underway and those planned for the upcoming period.
The meeting also addressed the administration’s logistical and technical needs, including infrastructure, equipment, and devices, with the aim of supporting its readiness and raising the level of efficiency in performing its security duties.
The Minister of Interior stressed the importance of the role played by the Electrical Police in protecting vital facilities, affirming that the Ministry will continue its full support for this administration, as the security of vital infrastructure is a priority for national security efforts, given its direct link to the lives of citizens and the stability of essential services.
