Twenty two leaders of armed groups in the Western region published a statement on Tuesday declaring their refusal to holding Libya elections based the laws approved by the House of Representatives (HoR), in clear and explicit support for the position of the prominent leader at the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood Group (LMBG), Khalid al-Mishri.
Al-Mishri, who is also the Head of the Tripoli-based High Council of State (HCS), warned states, candidates, and citizens who support the elections scheduled to be held in Libya on Dec 24, not to underestimate “their supporters”.
“We warn you not to underestimate those behind us,” he warned the elections supporters.
List of the 22 armed groups leaders who signed the statement included: Mukhtar Al-Jahawi, Mustafa Kaddour, Abdel-Ghani Al-Kikli, and others.
