The European naval operation IRINI has announced that it monitored 25 suspect flights out of 1,131 flights to Libya during February, explaining that it carried out 9 visits on ships with Master’s consent out of 434, and investigated 271 merchant vessels via radio calls out of 8,647, according to the European External Action Service (EEAS).

High-profile European politicians, including the EU’s former foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, Italy’s current and former interior ministers and the current and former prime ministers of Malta, have been named as the subjects of a criminal complaint at the international criminal court alleging they conspired with Libya’s coastguard to illegally push back refugees trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea into Europe, The Guardian reported.

EU Civilian Border and Security Sector Mission in Libya has said participants of different Libyan Border Management Agencies from Mitiga Airport in Tripoli and  Benina Airport in Benghazi received basic level training on document security, in close cooperation with the Dutch Royal Military Police (Marechaussee).
