Tatneft resumes its operations in Libya, says NOC
Tatneft has resumed its operations in Libya after a ten-year halt, announced the National Oil Corporation (NOC) on Friday.
The Russian oil firm is back for drilling operations for the appraisal well No. B-82 in Al Hamada area in Ghadames Basin, NOC said.
The firm’s return came after “many meetings between NOC and Tatneft Company during the last few months, as well as the mutual visits between the two parties,” according to the Libyan state-owned corporation.
The objective of Tatneft’s operation in well No. B-82 is to “continue drilling to a depth of 8700 feet. It is expected that this will will reach the target depth within about 45 days.”
