The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the government of Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh announced that its accounts on Twitter and Facebook had been hacked, stressing that everything published on these accounts does not represent the opinion of the Libyan Foreign Ministry.

The Tripoli-based Ministry stated, “The Ministry’s Documentation and Information Technology Office is working to recover the account, communicate with the concerned authorities, and take all legal measures in this regard.”

The account of the Foreign Ministry on Twitter, had published a tweet denouncing and condemning the kidnapping of the citizen Abu Agila Masoud Al-Marimi and his extradition to the United States of America, considering that this is contrary to international human rights law.
