Tripoli – The Tripoli Security Directorate and its supporting security agencies have tightened their security measures to secure the national electoral process and the municipal council elections that launched this morning, Saturday, at several polling centers in the capital.
In a statement, the Directorate confirmed that its media office had observed a steady flow of voters to polling centers since they opened. This came amid an organized and comprehensive security presence from all of the Directorate’s security units, including police stations and relevant security agencies.
The Directorate affirmed that its plan to secure the electoral process was developed in coordination with the Central Elections Committee. The plan includes covering all polling centers and ensuring a rapid response to any emergency, thereby enhancing citizens’ confidence in the safe climate for exercising their electoral right.
The Tripoli Security Directorate renewed its call to all citizens to demonstrate awareness and national responsibility, and to contribute positively to the success of this event, in a way that reflects a civilized image of the capital and its residents.
