Holding elections in Libya is one of the most important means to ensure the unity of the country, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Saturday.
“The situation in Libya is very critical, explaining that the West has set a date for holding the elections as soon as possible, but the Libyans said that the conditions in the country are not appropriate, so it was postponed,” Cavusoglu reportedly told the press, according to Turkish state-run media Anadolu Agency.
He also reportedly said legitimacy in Libya “should not be discussed until the election date and to take the necessary steps.”
