Two children were killed in a landmine explosion in Talhia area of Benghazi on Thursday, the National Commission for Human Rights in Libya reported.
The commission explained that the two brothers, Youssef and Abdul Rahman Al-Jazawi, died in Al-Jalaa Hospital from injuries they sustained in the landmine explosion.
In a statement on Friday, Major General Khaled Mahjoub, a media official of the Libyan National Army (LNA), payed tribute to the deceased children.
“We sadly mourn the death of the two children, Youssef and Abdul Rahman Ali Abdul-Azim Al-Jazawi, and extend our sincere condolences to their families,” Mahjoub said.
“[They] passed away due to the explosion of a landmine, one of the remnants of the terrorist groups that sowed terror and fear and carried out killing and slaughter,” he added.
