UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said she discussed possibility of establishment of a Woman Advisory Council with women representatives of civil society in Benghazi.
“Pleased to be in Benghazi again today. Excellent meeting with women representatives of civil society on recent developments and the need to swiftly create the political and legal conditions for the holding of elections as soon as possible,” Williams tweeted on Tuesday.
“We also discussed the possibility of establishment of a Women Advisory Council to support policy -making for the advancement and empowerment of women in Libya’s society.”
