UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said she had a “fruitful meeting” on Wednesday with the Libyan Attorney General and Deputy President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Al Siddig Al Sour, and discussed with him a number of issues.
The discussion included the Tarhouna investigations, the new campaign of arrests directed at civil society representatives, the appointment of new judges to the Supreme Court, and the Public Prosecution’s efforts to clear the National ID system, according to Williams.
I encouraged the Attorney General to continue genuine efforts to restore rule of law and protect human rights, the UN adviser tweeted.
