UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, met Thursday in Tripoli with Ahmed Maitig, former deputy Prime Minister and Presidency Council member.
Williams said they agreed on the importance of holding national elections on the basis of a firm, consensual constitutional framework as soon as possible in order to resolve the political crisis and to meet the demands of the Libyan people.
We also emphasized the need to maintain calm, the UN Adviser tweeted.
