Abdoulaye Bathily, the United Nations Special Representative for Libya, is set to deliver a briefing to the UN Security Council this evening regarding the latest developments in Libya.
The briefing will take place at 5:00 PM Tripoli time, where Bathily will present to the Security Council members an overview of the political and security developments in Libya and the UN’s efforts to support the country’s political process.
Bathily is expected to focus his briefing on the latest updates related to his initiative aimed at holding parliamentary and presidential elections in Libya, as well as the security and economic situations across various Libyan regions.
His briefing comes as the UN continues its efforts to support a political solution in Libya and facilitate the holding of national elections that would lead to the establishment of a unified, stable government capable of addressing the country’s challenges.
