Khaled Shakshak, the Head of the Audit Bureau, held a meeting with Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, following their return from their respective foreign visits, where Shakshak visited Cameroon, and Al-Kabir visited Istanbul.
During the meeting, Shakshak and Al-Kabir reviewed the financial statements of the Central Bank of Libya and discussed ways to overcome the difficulties facing the auditing processes.
The two sides also discussed the work of accounting audit firms and the need to unify standards between the Audit Bureau and the Central Bank to facilitate the work of these firms. They addressed the possibility of amending the mandatory requirements for accrediting firms to enable them to efficiently audit the tasks assigned to them, aiming to develop accounting work in Libya.
The two parties also discussed the possibility of agreeing on a work plan that would facilitate auditing processes and expedite their approval. The Audit Bureau and the Central Bank of Libya strive to achieve the highest levels of transparency and accuracy in financial auditing to ensure the integrity of the bank’s financial and accounting performance.
