UN envoy to Libya Abdoulaye Bathily said he held consultations with Mohammed Takala, President of the Tripoli-based High Council of State (HCS), focusing on the political process, according to Bathily.
Takala shared his assessment of recent developments and reiterated the necessity to address controversies in the issued electoral laws, UN envoy said on X.
“I emphasized the need for an inclusive political agreement to take Libya to elections; the only safe path to sustained stability, security and development,” Bathily pointed out.
