UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, stressed the importance of the role played by the Libyan Presidential Council (LPC) in creating a state of consensus between the local parties as a neutral body that stands at the same distance from all parties, according to LPC Media Office.
This came during a meeting with LPC President, Mohamed al-Menfi, during which Bathily gave a briefing on his meetings in New York, and his last briefing before the UN Security Council.
For his part, Al-Menfi affirmed support for all efforts made to reach parliamentary and presidential elections before the end of 2023.
