The United Nations Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya, Stephanie Koury, and the Qatari Ambassador to Libya, Khalid Dosari, met on Thursday to discuss the latest political and security developments in the country.
In their meeting, DSRSG Koury and Ambassador Dosari underscored the critical need for the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity and the Deterrence Apparatus for Combatting Organized Crime and Terrorism to reach an agreement on security arrangements as soon as possible.
The diplomats also emphasized the importance of advancing the UNSMIL-facilitated political roadmap, as recently presented by UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, in her briefing to the Security Council on August 21.
