UN Spox stress need for Libya leaders to move forward in peaceful, consensual way to maintain stability in Tripoli

Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephane Dujarric, has stressed the need for Libyan leaders to move forward in a peaceful, consensual, transparent and inclusive way to maintain stability in Tripoli and beyond.

“It is up to the Libyan people to arrange their situation.” Dujarric said in response to a question at the press conference about UN position on what is happening now in Libya.

Dujarric called on Libyan leaders to put the interests of the Libyan people first and foremost, and the interests of the 2.8 million people who registered to vote.
