307 persons were returned to Tripoli last night, in two different operations undertaken by Libyan maritime forces, said the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on Wednesday.
22 females and 11 children were among the migrants, according to the U.N. agency.
UNHCR said it attended both disembarkations and provided “medical assistance and relief items to survivors” along with the team of International Rescue Committee (IRC).
According to the latest UNHCR data, there are over 41,000 migrants in Libya, most of whom are held in detention centers where they suffer abuse and violence.
