The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) published its report issued on September 24, 2021, on Libya, in which it stated that a total of 24,420 migrants and refugees were intercepted and brought back to Libya by the Libyan Coast Guard.
42 migrants who were returned to the Tripoli Naval Base on September 21, including 8 women and 4 children.
On the 23rd of September, UNHCR launched a winter campaign to distribute relief items to the displaced families in Falah 1 camp for the displaced in Tripoli.
The campaign assistance targeted about 300 families (more than 1,200 individuals). The assistance included winter shoes, socks, diapers, school bags and hygiene items.
Thus, since the beginning of 2021 until now, UNHCR has distributed basic relief items to 32,825 displaced people, while more than 700 displaced people have received cash assistance to help them meet their basic needs.
