U.S. Special Envoy to Libya Ambassador Richard Norland and Chargé d’Affaires Jeremy Berndt met Monday in Tripoli with Presidential Council President Mohamed al-Menfi, according to Ambassador Norland.
“We discussed ways in which the United States can help Libyans safeguard their sovereignty in the context of regional turmoil and also restore momentum to the UN-led political process, enabling the Libyan people to choose their leaders,” US Embassy quoted Norland.
“We reiterated U.S. support for economic stability and national reconciliation in Libya,” he added.
