U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, spoke with the outgoing Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, by phone on Tuesday “to discuss maintaining stability and calm in Libya,” according to U.S. Embassy.
“The Ambassador encouraged PM Dbeibeh to work constructively with all Libyan stakeholders to hold elections and support efforts to protect and make transparent oil revenue expenditures for the benefit of the Libyan people,” the Embassy said in a statement.
