The Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Berndt, held talks with the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Saddek Elkaber, on Friday.
With the presence of the Director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) John Cardenas and other representatives, the two officials discussed the American agency’s technical support for the CBL through staff capacity-building.
They also discussed “the challenges facing Libya‘s economic stability and the need for transparency, economic policy coordination across the country, and effective measures to prevent fraud, mismanagement, and money laundering,” as reported by the US Embassy in Libya.
