Libya needs to “move forward with the electoral framework to allow for Presidential and Parliamentary elections on December 24,” said Victoria Nuland, the U.S. Under Secretary of State, following a meeting with Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush in New York yesterday.
The two diplomats also discussed Mangoush’s ‘Libya Stability” initiative, and its upcoming conference on October 21, according to a statement by the Libyan foreign ministry.
Good discussion today with Libyan Foreign Minister Mangoush on the need to move forward with the electoral framework to allow for Presidential and Parliamentary elections on December 24, and the Libyan stabilization initiative, including withdrawing foreign forces.
