U.S. diplomats, led by Ambassador Richard Norland, on Tuesday discussed the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) production increase strategy with its Chairman Farhat Bengdara.
U.S. Embassy said Libya’s economic future depends on the energy sector, indicating that the NOC’s leadership is vital and its technocratic integrity must be protected.
“We congratulate the NOC for looking toward a greener future and unveiling its new decarbonization strategy at COP28,” the Embassy stated on X.
“The United States looks forward to partnering with the NOC to address our common climate goals,” it added.
