Benghazi – Waha Oil Company announced on Sunday its success in containing and addressing an emergency leak that occurred last Friday at point 109 on the oil pipeline connecting Zaggut and Sidra, confirming that the line has returned to normal operation after maintenance work was completed.
In an official statement, the company mentioned that operations and production teams responded immediately to the incident, safely shutting down the pipeline in full coordination with the safety,
engineering, and corrosion departments to assess the damage and implement the required technical interventions, with full adherence to occupational health and safety procedures.
According to the statement, maintenance teams installed a 24-inch clamp at the site of the leak, in addition to conducting precise technical tests that proved the pipeline’s safety and the efficiency of the repair, which allowed pumping operations to resume as normal.
Waha Company confirmed that operational processes are now running regularly, stressing its full commitment to applying the best industrial practices to ensure the safety of personnel and the environment and the continuation of production without being affected.
