UN adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said she had a virtual exchange on Friday with Libyan presidential candidates, where she briefed them on UN initiative for elections constitutional basis.
“I had an impressive virtual exchange yesterday with a group of Libyan presidential candidates during which I briefed them in detail on the initiative for the UN-facilitated joint committee between the HoR and the HCS to agree on a constitutional basis for holding the elections,” Williams tweeted.
‘Participants stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to put the electoral process back on track.They called for more interaction with concerned constituencies, including candidates & tabled an initiative in the event that the talks between the two chambers don’t succeed,” she added.
