UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, discussed Thursday with General Mohammed al-Haddad, Chief of Staff of Dbeibeh’s government, efforts to unify military institution and withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya.
“Good meeting today with General Mohammed Al-Haddad in Tripoli. I briefed him about my recent engagements with regional and international partners. I appreciate his patriotism and commitment to dialogue,” Williams tweeted.
Williams added that she commended Haddad’s recent meetings with General Abdulrazik al-Nazouri, designated Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), and “his determination to maintain the stability and peace in Libya.”
“We also discussed the military track, efforts to unify the military institutions and advance the withdrawal of mercenaries, foreign fighters and foreign forces from Libya. I reiterated strong UN support for these efforts,” UN Adviser said.
