2892 people test positive for Coronavirus, 31 others dead in Libya

2892 people test positive for Coronavirus, 31 others dead in Libya

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Monday that 2,892 new people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 29 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 31 people died of the virus, while 739 have recovered during the same reporting period.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 256,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 193,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

Death toll of the virus have reached 3,579 in total, while over 673,727 people were vaccinated.

Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh said on Monday that two million doses of COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Libya, calling on all Libyans to vaccinate as soon as possible.
