Moscow – As part of efforts to support bilateral relations between Libya and the Russian Federation, a delegation from the Libyan House of Representatives, headed by MP Zaid Hadiya and including MPs Nasser bin Nafe, Al-Sadiq Al-Kahili, and Faraj Al-Safti, paid an official visit to the headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where a meeting was held with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin.
The meeting focused on discussing prospects for strengthening cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly political and economic aspects, in addition to exchanging views on a number of regional and international files of common interest.
The two sides also addressed the latest developments in Libya and ways to support efforts to achieve political and security stability in the country.
During the meeting, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country’s position in support of the political path in Libya, stressing the importance of continued dialogue among all Libyan parties.
For its part, the Libyan parliamentary delegation expressed its appreciation for Russia’s positions supporting Libya’s stability, affirming the country’s aspiration for more joint cooperation in the next phase.
