Khoms – Dr. Fadwa Al-Faidi, head of the Health Institutions Accreditation and Supervision Authority, affirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting healthcare facilities during the accreditation process. She emphasized that this effort aims to improve service quality and enhance patient safety.
Al-Faidi made the remarks during a visit to Khoms, accompanied by several department heads from the authority. She met with Mayor Ali Al-Deeb, other local officials, and directors of health institutions.
During the visit, a broad session was held with the heads of hospitals and medical centers in the municipality. The session introduced the authority’s role and responsibilities, reviewed accreditation and quality standards, and discussed the importance of applying these standards to raise performance levels.
Al-Faidi told the Libyan News Agency that the authority aims to be a partner in developing and accrediting health institutions by providing technical support and guidance. This approach, she said, would lead to improved services for citizens.
She added that ensuring quality in the health sector is not a one-time goal achieved with accreditation. Instead, it is an ongoing process that requires a continuous commitment to standards, performance improvement, and fostering a culture of quality within medical facilities.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the authority and Khoms municipality, support health institutions throughout accreditation phases, and examine challenges faced in implementing quality standards.
