An economic report published by the American magazine “The Maritime Executive” highlighted Libya’s intensive efforts aimed at reviving its economy through the development of its ports.
The report, followed by Al-Marsad newspaper, indicated that the country has announced, as part of ongoing economic reforms, progress on the development of the Port of Sirte and its associated infrastructure. It noted that the easing of tensions between the two rival governments has contributed to the resumption of development initiatives.
The report explained that port development is another area that has achieved national consensus, being a necessity for reviving the country’s trade relations. It described the Port of Sirte as one of the most prominent strategic infrastructure initiatives, which could support Libya’s trade with its landlocked neighbors, including Chad, Mali, and Niger.
