Benghazi – The Arab Gulf Oil Company announced Wednesday that it has achieved a new technical milestone by restoring a well at the Messla oil field to production at a rate of 2,400 barrels per day, after previously operating at a limited capacity.
The move is part of the National Oil Corporation’s plan to boost daily oil production rates.
According to the company, the achievement was the result of effective collaboration between its reservoir engineering, drilling, and production departments, with technical support from Camco and Baker Hughes.
It added that technical teams carried out directional drilling and re-entry operations using advanced technology, increasing output from 169 barrels per day with 80% water cut to 2,400 barrels per day with zero water cut.
