Libya – Interior Minister Issam Bouzreba met Monday with Ahmed Al-Murtada, director of the Ministry of Planning and Finance Office. The meeting was also attended by Major General Youssef Al-Doukali, director of the Ministry’s Legal Affairs Department, Major General Miloud Al-Fitouri, head of the General Department of Traffic and Licensing, and Shukri Lamine, the ministry’s general financial controller.
The officials discussed how to collect the ministry’s revenues and fees. They emphasized the need to deposit these funds into government accounts according to legal guidelines. The meeting also reviewed the procedures in place for gathering ministry revenues. Attendees considered ways to strengthen the collection of legally mandated fees from ministry departments, including those from traffic violations and passport services.
Participants examined the legal rules for recording, classifying, and depositing these revenues in designated accounts. At the end of the meeting, Bouzreba stressed that all ministry divisions must follow the legal procedures for collecting and depositing funds. He highlighted the importance of transferring revenues to the public treasury on schedule to improve transparency and boost the efficiency of public revenue management.
