British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, spoke on Friday with Prime Minister Fathi Bashagha in the aftermath of the latest clashes in Tripoli.
“I stressed the need for all sides to refrain from violence and provocation,” Hurndall said via Twitter. “It’s critical that all parties engage constructively in dialogue towards a process that benefits all Libyans.”
“Although we did not discuss the role of Libyan financial institutions in our call today, the U.K. is unequivocal that the integrity and neutrality of Libya’s financial institutions must be maintained for the benefit of the Libyan people,” the British diplomat added.
