Libya’s outgoing prime minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, could soon travel to New York for a meeting with U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Italian news agency Nova reported on Sunday.
Citing an unnamed source, Nova said “preliminary agreements are in progress to allow the visit.”
The source reportedly told Nova that Dbeibeh’s visit to New York aims to support his plan to “restore trust to the people” by allowing parliamentary elections to be held next June, and to gain approval from the U.N. Secretary General.
