Benghazi – The Criminal Investigation Department in Benghazi announced arrests on Friday. Several individuals were detained. They are involved in a fraud and forgery case. This concerns land contracts in the Al-Hawari area.
The department’s Security Media Office clarified the incident’s details. The Public Prosecution referred a complaint to the Anti-Forgery Department. A citizen filed this complaint. It concerned a fraud and forgery incident. This involved a land cession contract. The land measured 4400 square meters in Al-Hawari. It was exchanged for a sum of money.
The Anti-Forgery Department began its investigations into the complaint. It discovered the attached power of attorney was forged. The personal ID used in the land sale contract was also incorrect.
The Anti-Forgery Department traced the case’s leads. It contacted Libyana and Almadar mobile service companies. Call records were obtained. These records revealed the involvement of several individuals.
The department also reviewed surveillance footage. This footage was from the notary public’s office. They identified one person. This individual was present for the land sale contract’s execution.
The Criminal Investigation Department’s Anti-Forgery section concluded its work. All individuals involved in the case have been legally detained. Exceptions are the complainant and the notary public. They will be presented to the Public Prosecution soon.
