Prime Minister of Libya’s Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, has reinstated Health Minister Ali Al-Zanati, and the Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, Samir Koko, after a court cleared the two of “financial violations” charges.
This was announced by Dbeibeh’s media office, which reported that the 63-year-old premier convened a meeting with the two officials.
“During the meeting, the Prime Minister affirmed his full respect for the legal procedures, instructing them to return to their duties, and to work seriously and sincerely in order to organize the health sector, which needs exceptional efforts,” reads the statement from Dbeibeh’s media office.
Al-Zanati and Koko were suspended from their posts after the Attorney-General launched an investigation against them in January over claims of “financial violations” reported by Libya’s Audit Bureau.
