Issa Al-Araibi, a member of parliament, criticized on Monday the lack of representatives for Cyrenaica in Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh’s cabinet, which he says violates the government’s purpose of unity.
During an interview with Libya Al-Ahrar channel, Al-Araibi accused Dbeibeh of favoring his personal associates in government positions, instead of ensuring proportional representation for Cyrenaica.
He warned that a parallel government could be formed in the eastern region if Dbeibeh fails to make amends for fair regional representation.
The Libyan MP pointed that the House of Representatives withdrew confidence from the prime minister’s government due to lack of credibility on numerous issues including the state budget.
