Dbeiebh: “Patriot MPs” will ruin confidence-granting session

Outgoing Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamid Dbeiebh, said that “the patriot parliament members” will ruin the confidence-granting session, which will be preceded tomorrow by a session for presenting the cabinet line-up of Fathi Bashagha’s government.

Dbeiebh added in his speech demonstrators demanding elections on Sunday in Tripoli that the members of parliament had taken the parliament in a dark tunnel during the past years because of their political maneuvers aimed at staying in power.

He stressed that the current phase led by the Presidential Council and GNU ends next June, based on the road map approved by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), denouncing Parliament’s accusation of the executive authority as “force majeure.”

Dbeibeh praised those who took part in the demonstrations and urged them to demand the holding of parliamentary elections and refuse the extension for the Parliament and the High Council of State.
