Libyan Parliament Speaker Aqila Saleh confirmed Tuesday that deputies who are absent from sessions from now on are considered obstructionists and careless.
Saleh added during today’s session that absent representatives will be punished by deduction from their salaries, leading to the revocation of their membership.
The Speaker stressed that the sessions will be held periodically and without the need to invite the deputies.
Saleh called on the Road Map Committee to cooperate with the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), the Attorney General and the Civil Registry Authority to set an inevitable date for the elections, no later than the end of this month.
