Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty expressed his views on a number of Egyptian and regional issues and his country’s positions on several countries in the region.
Abdel Aty explained, during a speech he delivered to a number of journalists and media professionals on the sidelines of his participation in the “Maspero Cultural Salon” event in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, that the Libyan crisis and its complexities still represent a very significant challenge for the region.
He stressed that the presence of armed militias and the foreign presence threaten Libya’s stability, pointing out that the absence of a national state leads to a vacuum and chaos and the expansion of extremist organizations or foreign interventions, which makes it imperative to prevent the repetition of this scenario in Libya and several other countries.
