The Al-Wahat branch of the Drug Control Agency raided a farm in the city of Jalu that was used to store fuel for smuggling. During the operation, a Chadian national working as a farmer and shepherd was arrested.
In a statement on Thursday, the agency said the search uncovered five large tanks and a 20,000-liter tanker, all filled with diesel fuel intended for smuggling.
The statement added that the suspect and the seized items have been taken into custody pending the completion of investigations in coordination with the Public Prosecution. This is part of the security forces’ efforts to combat smuggling networks that exploit farms and remote areas in the country.
